Redshift - Astronomy App Reviews

Broken English

I bought this app as a learning tool, which requires reading the written material. Unfortunately, that material is in stilted, sometimes broken, English. If you dont mind English with German grammar and some very odd wording choices, its probably not an issue. But for me, very disappointing.

The best il give away.

Again

Redshift

Look no further, this is the one! Best App you can get for your money, and you can bet that.

The best Astronomy app

The best Astronomy app. Period. Nuff said.

Best astro app out there

The best of the best. Seriously. If you have any interest in astronomy at all, this app is the best one for you. I dont even know how the others made it on the featured page while this one didnt. It has literally everything you need, and more. Oh, you want to see the stars from Pluto? No probs. Want to see Deneb up close? No freakin problem. You want to take a tour of the Galaxy? Done.

DDS

Incredible graphics. Fantastic animations. Lots of useful information. Great learning tool. I can point iPad to sky and identify objects without switching to another app. Has rekindled my interest to review and get a scope on deep sky objects. How can I print a sky chart of a given night, from my iPad to wireless printer? Very satisfied.

Great app, but...

I truly enjoy using this app, but there are two things that stop me from giving it that 5th star. First, I am way past my 20s and my eye sight is far from 20/20. The labels for the stars are "Microscopic" and there is no Preference setting to change the size of the type. That sure would make my life easier. Second, it would be great if there were a pull-down "Favorites Menu" so that you can quickly access celestial bodies and objects such as the ISS. I will continue to use and enjoy this app and hope that these issues will be addressed soon. Thanks guys!!!!

No expert

Im no expert, but I use it all the time mainly to learn the stars for celestial navigation. Ive also found it handy to find celestial events like meteor showers and eclipses in the future. The almanac information is interesting. The position data is good for checking my celestial navigation with a sextant.

Great app!

This app is great for adults and children interested in astronomy. Its easy and fun to use. I just wish it would allow you to fly to see different galaxies.

Nothing Better!

There isnt a better astronomy app out there!!

Very cool!

Can comfortably say that anyone from amateurs to experienced enthusiasts can, WILL enjoy this app. Good stuff!

Love it

I have several other planetarium-like apps but find Redshift to be the best of them all. I am using it right now every morning to plan my taking pictures of the triple planetary conjunction (Mars-Jupiter-Venus) and my shots match perfectly what Redshift shows, including the magnitudes (and the positions of Jupiters moons.)

Great app

Very informative and easy to use , great job developers !!

Excellent!

Extremely informative, very easy to use and intuitive. The engineers and designers did a wonderful job to create an app that helps the novice like me and entices further exploration. Kudos to all

The Best

I use it on my iPhone and iPad constantly, and the desktop version of the program is the most powerful Ive seen. It works flawlessly and easily, and the constellation graphics are beautiful, too!

Excellent app

Ive been using it regularly for years. You can check any date, any time, from minutes at a time to years at a time, and speed back home with the click of the home button. Customize what kinds of objects you want to see, and many other things such as landscape. Even zoom in on planets and other objects to see what they look like. Very user friendly; easy for a novice to figure out. Never had any problems. Ive used Redshift to study the night sky and to see whats coming up. If you want to learn the constellations, its an easy memorization tool to use while viewing the actual night sky above you.

A thought...

This is the best app I have ever purchased. Thank you with as much emphasis that can expressed on text format.

Fantastic

And good customer service to boot.

Dream download 10,000 BC

I came across the article about the star map found on the north shaft of the Pyramid in Egypt and it was 9200 BC. Even the birth of Adam on July 27, 4004 BC was not in range of your 3000 BC limit. Can you make that available?

Fantastic!

This is far and away the best astronomy app available. Highly customizable and a great educational tool. Ive used this app in the field many times with perfect results.
