Redshift - Astronomy App Reviews

Worth it.

Better than any game as far as entertainment value. And of course extremely educational.

Awesome

This app is amazing Im so happy theres Wikipedia to give a lot of info I hope theres a update that allows you to go beyond our galaxy

Redshift crashing

Awesome App, but continually crashes when I hit the object-info button. That is an awful programming flaw for a $9 App. Very annoying when stargazing. Gotta fix that soon, or wont be able to use it much longer.

Awesome

Has a ton of content and nicly optimized for the amount of stars and planets and I also enjoy the mix between the 3D flight to explore space and the normal telescope replication. I appove! Only thing that would be cool is a small graphics/texture update on planets and stars, that would look nice!

Excellent

Excellent! Ive had both the pc version and palm pilot version. Im not surprised that this app is great!

Redshift

AWESOME best app I have ever paid for worth its digital weight in platinum

Redshift rates

This is one of the best ways to give an affordable gift to any adult or younger, who has ever looked at the sky and wondered.... You cant help but enjoy it and consciously or otherwise, learn more about the amazing life places in which souls live and to which we can travel. Its just a tad different than the big city you havent seen yet, and the ocean floor we forget exists too.

EXCELLENT

This app is amazing. Any star, any planet, any nebula, its there. and to make it even better itll tell you everything it knows about that interstellar object. This app is just great all around.

Perfect

The stars are as shiny as your mom.

Great!

Perfect companion for portable astronomy!! Take it everywhere your devise goes! A must for when youre asked "what is that?!" And they dont believe you!! Worth the purchase if youve made the plunge for other astronomical products!

Massively impressive

Redshift is fantastic in terms of all the content delivered. Great graphics. Heaps of different ways to learn different aspects of astronomy so it is perfect for an amateur astronomer like me. It also includes an intuitively displayed, large number of Earth-orbiting satellites. Red lighting at night is a nice feature to preserve vision. Nothing about it annoys me. I have it installed on both iPhone 6 and iPad. Bravo!! Obviously an incredible amount of thought went into making Redshift. I feel like Im being so superlative in my praise that I sound like Im being paid to write this but Im totally not.

Great app, although pricey

Kind of expensive, but definitely worth it if you are going to put it to use. I use this app with my telescope at night. If you are casually looking for a constellation mapping app, then there are cheaper options.

A Must Have Tool

I use Red Shift every day to see what is up in the sky, to learn more about astronomical objects, to plan viewing sessions, and to see gorgeous images. The red screen is essential for night time viewing (the only drawback is that the search text field is white even in dark-vision mode). I also have the Mac version for astronomy on cloudy nights!

REDSHIFT

although the price may seem high for an iOS app, this is a full-featured astronomy program. as with many astronomy programs, you can view the annotated-night sky using the compass and gyroscope features of your iDevice. Redshift goes much further by allowing you to take a simulated flight out to the planets and objects in the solar system, and even to a vast number of stars around the visible universe. as a casual user, i found it very addictive, just jumping from one star to another to see what objects are within their views. there are lots of customization options to increase the amount of information displayed for more serious astronomy buffs, but im sure anyone would enjoy the ability to fly between the stars that Redshift offers.

Redshift

I have a few astronomy apps and Redview is the most sophisticated due to an enviable level of depth. The interface offers an abundance of user options without being cluttered or confusing. The scenic flights and 3D depictions are absolutely superb. I would like to see some additional features: 1. I am unable to find a toggle for English/Latin names and without knowing both for an individual constellation cannot match. Offline facts on main constellations would resolve this issue. A toggle feature for other modes would also be appropriate and user friendly. 2. A manual calibration feature for the follow sky mode. The iPod Touch does not have a compass but I carry one in my pocket and could calibrate quite easily. From beginner to expert this is a most worthy application and will both educate and delight.

Good software

Nice experience. Also easy to use. Augmented reality helpful.

Very best
